Description We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Brooklyn, New York. This is a contract position within the non-profit sector, offering a great opportunity to contribute your financial expertise to a meaningful organization. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency in managing a variety of accounting tasks. Responsibilities: • Perform routine account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records. • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including timely payments and collections. • Conduct detailed bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow reporting. • Oversee month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and correctly recorded. • Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and timelines. • Utilize QuickBooks to maintain and update financial records efficiently. • Handle data entry tasks with precision to support accurate bookkeeping. • Prepare financial reports as required to assist with organizational decision-making. • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless financial operations. • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and procedures. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a non-profit organization. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. • Strong knowledge of accounts reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). • Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and month-end close procedures. • Experience in payroll processing and compliance. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
