Description Our client in Home Construction and Residential Rental industry, seeking a meticulous and trustworthy individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. In this role, you will manage the accounting and administrative responsibilities for multiple entities within a casual yet professional small-office environment. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably in construction or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including coding and entering vendor invoices, facilitating check runs, maintaining ledgers, and resolving issues.
Prepare and record bank deposits, loan principal, and interest payments across multiple accounts.
Process payroll, file 941s/TWCs, and handle monthly/quarterly employee tax payments.
Generate and file W2s/1099s as required.
Conduct month-end reconciliations for bank accounts, payroll, AR/AP, and intercompany transfers.
Prepare journal entries for asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts, as well as reconcile profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Collaborate with CPAs on tax preparation and assist with audits.
Analyze general ledger accounts to explain variances against budgets.
Assist in preparing and submitting draw requests to banks and funding requests to partners.
Ensure proper internal financial controls and enhance company efficiencies.
Coordinate with the property management team regarding rental income, expenses, deductions, and property-level financials.
Track and record property taxes for multiple properties.
Maintain well-organized and systematized financial records and files.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction or a related industry.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, Rent Manager (or equivalent), Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), and competence in computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs.
Analytical Skills: Ability to calculate percentages, interest, and commission figures with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
Soft Skills: Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
Multitasking: Effectively prioritize work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Clear Communication: Ability to articulate complex financial data in a digestible way.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with processes specific to the construction industry, including project cost tracking and financial reporting.
Experience in preparing financial documents for multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
