Description Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and growth-minded Bookkeeper to join an evolving team in West Des Moines. This role is designed to provide immediate support to the team during a critical transitional period, then assume additional responsibilities to grow into a higher-level position, providing a unique opportunity to grow and develop within the accounting space! The ideal candidate will bring foundational experience in accounting, expertise in QuickBooks Desktop, and the eagerness to assume leadership responsibilities over time. Key Responsibilities: + Support the team with initial invoice data entry as they transition systems from Sage50 to QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. + Process credit card transactions, match bank deposits, and post invoices to accounting systems, ensuring a high level of accuracy. + Ensure all invoices are entered and coded properly, and apply payments. + Work closely with the Controller to gain insight into company-specific accounting procedures and systems, and support accounts payable, month-end closing and payroll processes. + Assume greater leadership and financial roles with training and demonstrated initiative. Requirements Requirements: + 3-4 years of bookkeeping experience, with a demonstrated solid foundation in accounting principles. + QuickBooks Desktop experience is mandatory. Familiarity with Sage50 and willingness to assist with the software transition is required. + Collaborative, communicative, and comfortable asking clarifying questions during training. + Problem-solving mindset with adaptability to work with various personalities, including senior leadership. + Demonstrated initiative and eagerness to grow in the accounting field, including long-term leadership potential.
