Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth accounting operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a meticulous approach to financial management.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Assist in the preparation and management of budgets to support organizational goals.
• Maintain detailed bookkeeping records and ensure proper documentation.
• Conduct data entry tasks to update financial databases and systems.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for tracking, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
• Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and resolve financial issues.
• Provide insights into financial trends and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Ensure all accounting practices align with local government regulations and standards. Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial record-keeping.
• Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures.
• Expertise in bookkeeping and data entry tasks.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial data management.
• Familiarity with budget preparation and monitoring.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of local government accounting practices is a plus.
