Bone Density Technologist

This position offers up to $50,000 in signing bonus for external applicants as well as internal per diem to full time conversions!

Job Summary:

Provides quality scans and patient care in a defined imaging service. Prepares scans and finished reports for the radiologist to review.

Education/Licensure:

Licensed Radiologic Technologist credentialed from New York Department of Health’s Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date

Required: Certification through the International Society for Clinical Densitometry

Preferred: Completed Registry in Bone Density from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Essential Functions:

Assists in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, etc. Performs daily QA. Ensures patient is adequately prepared for procedure Adept at working within the Bone Density software Selects appropriate scanning parameters for each exam Obtains and utilizes relevant patient data Positions patients and selects anatomical and technical parameters accurately Ensures prompt submission and high-quality of all images and reports to radiologist and subsequent ordering physician Performs weekly QC, documenting and charting scanner variations Database maintenance and backup Remain current with official positions of the ISCD, including the most recent information on the available treatments for osteoporosis and risk factor reduction Maintain working knowledge of the ICD 10 codes and insurance reimbursement All Bone Density Technologists must perform a precision study once proficiency is obtained
