BOB-Administrative Project Manager
Job Description Civil Service Title- Administrative Project Manager N/M Under the direction of EIC, serves as an Administrative Project Manager (NM), in the Monitoring and Survey Unit of the Bureau of Engineering Review and Support. Performs field survey and visual inspections of bridges and retaining walls. Monitors cracks and movements in bridge structures as well as foundation settlement. Survey bridge girder alignments and twisted movements in steel girders and floor beams due to accidents. Verifies field elevations to find existing vertical clearances of bridge structures. Operates survey equipment and office software for efficient monitoring of bridges and retaining walls. Collects data from the field and creates databases for projects. Performs other related duties. The candidate must have a driver’s license valid in New York State. Preferred Skills A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer is preferred. In addition, candidate must have six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering or plan examining work, at least two (2) years of which must have been in an executive, managerial or administrative capacity. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Candidates must have recent experience in operating survey equipment. Advanced knowledge using AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Excel and Microsoft Windows. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration, and five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the planning, administering or expediting of engineering design, and/or construction, or coordinating a very large engineering project, two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; or 2. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and nine years of experience as described in "1" above; two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; or 3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. An accredited Master's degree in one of the disciplines described in "1" above, a law degree, or a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect or Landscape Architect may be substituted for one year of the required experience. However, all candidates must have the two years of the administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.
