Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Position Overview: 

The BCBA will serves various schools within the district based on student enrollment and need. Additionally, the District BCBA may be asked to supervise BCaBA's. Conducts functional behavior assessments on students exhibiting abnormal behavior; develops and implements behavior intervention programs for students needing behavior training. Confers with parents at home or at school to gain a mutual understanding of their children's problem behaviors and involve them in the plans for improvement of these behaviors. Assists teachers in the development and implementation of a social skills curriculum that is appropriate to regular and handicapped students. Assists with the School Improvement process at individual school sites for student management and disciplinary issues. Provides direct professional services to students in need of behavioral training. Assist teachers in developing behavioral plans for students who exhibit extreme disruptive or non- compliant behavior. Provides in-service for teachers and other professionals who work with students with behavioral problems. Participates in the development of a district wide behavior management system for disruptive students at all levels; assists in the development of alternatives to suspension for students. Assists educational instructors in developing strategies to work with students demonstrating emotional and/or behavioral difficulties in the classroom. Provides innovative education and individual support to parents of emotionally handicapped and autistic students, with an emphasis on home-based services. Assists in the development and implementation of family support groups and workshops. Performs related duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis National Certification as a BCBA Prior experience delivering ABA services within a school-based or pediatric setting (Preferred)
