Overview As a Snowcat Operator you are responsible for preparing and maintaining the skiing surface that is safe and functional for skiers and snowboards of all skill levels using grooming vehicles. Responsibilities The Snowcat Operator's typical job functions included: Learning how to operate all slope-grooming equipment Maintaining mountain skiing surfaces to the finest level possible Safely operating a turbo-charged diesel powered snowcats with hydrostatic drives, 12 way blade and multi-function rototiller rear implements Operating all machine functions, such as blade controls, rear implement controls and steering Minimizing down time through basis preventative maintenance, cleanliness and up-keep of machines Covering rocks and obstacles on slopes; moving snow from low wear areas to high wear areas Communicating as needed to shop mechanics concerning mechanical problems Qualifications This position may be for you if: You are at least 18 years old You possess a valid driver's license You have achieved a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) You are available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays You have one to three months related experience and/or training
