Key Responsibilities:
 

As part of the Quantitative Methods Core, responsibilities include:

Provide statistical consultation on study design, analytic strategies, and data management for new and ongoing clinical, epidemiologic, and translational research projects. Perform sample size and power calculations to support study planning and grant submissions. Conduct advanced statistical analyses using software such as SAS, R, or STATA. Query, manage, and prepare large, complex datasets—including electronic health records, claims, and registry data—for analysis. Develop statistical analysis plans and contribute detailed methods and results sections for protocols, grants, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations. Interpret findings and provide methodological guidance throughout the research lifecycle. Deliver workshops and one-on-one consultations to support faculty development in research methods. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, investigators, and research staff. Independently manage multiple projects with minimal supervision and contribute to team-wide collaboration and quality assurance.
 

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline. At least 3 years of experience in applied biostatistics within clinical, public health, or academic research environments. Strong programming skills and experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, or STATA. Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects from design to publication independently. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Experience with big data (e.g., EHR, claims, or registry data) is strongly preferred. Familiarity with epidemiological study designs, pragmatic trials, or health services research is a plus.
