At Houston Methodist, the Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) III position is responsible for providing technical & On-Call support on the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and upgrades on all assigned medical and other electronic equipment and demonstrate technical support for all modalities of medical, surgical, and other therapeutic equipment, and conduct safety inspections for the institution and to meet regulatory guidelines. This position provides first call technical support for x-ray and imaging systems and first call and scheduled maintenance for ultrasound systems. The BMET III position works under minimal supervision and conducts work, provides records, and maintains a database of scheduled maintenance, corrective maintenance, and safety testing in accordance with manufacturer, regulatory, and department guidelines. This position provides on-call support after normal working hours on a rotational basis and supports special projects and installations under the guidance of the Clinical Engineer or management.
