Position Title: Biologist III

Business Title: Analyst III

Department: ATL

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Reports to: Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Compensation Range: $28.00-$30.00 per hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset). 

 

 

 

Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.

However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

 

Position Summary:

 

The In Vitro/In Vivo Biologist III is responsible for supporting multiple animal studies including but not limited to in-vivo animal handling skills and dosing as well as conducting in-vitro experiments. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete dilution calculations and dosing solution accounting Extensive mouse/rat handling & manipulations, Experience with molecular biology techniques and endpoints including qRT-PCR, ELISA, MSD, Western blot, and multiplex immunofluorescence (cell/tissue based). Performing microscopy and basic image software use Assisting with terminal surgical procedures Independent dosing Animal observations and inventory Independent data analysis Reporting of data in written and oral formats. Perform all work in full compliance with company policies Complete all required training activities in the timeframe specified. Necropsy and dissection and collection of various tissues. Offer problem resolution, as applicable, for any client issues or questions with the aim of enhancing client satisfaction and improving client relations. Accurately record test data. Report safety, instrument and technical issues. Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload. Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures. Comply with clients and Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies. Adhere to the requirements of the BV-CPS Quality System.

 

Skills & Proficiencies:

 

Expertise in handling small laboratory animals Ability to train on all technical aspects in data analysis in the assigned laboratory Instrument maintenance and performance qualification, and troubleshooting. Understanding of experimental design and ability to perform necessary background research Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients Organizational and time management skills Ability to perform multiple tasks Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines Individual and Team work ethic Demonstrate team leadership   Strong interpersonal skills – being approachable, relationship building with external and internal contacts, demonstrating initiative and adaptability Proficiency with Windows, Word & Excel Attention to detail Positive attitude, self-motivated, high level of engagement Adheres to company values

 

Education and Experience:

 

Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Neuroscience, Molecular/Cell Biology or related discipline Master degree and Research experience is preferred Minimum of three (3) years of experience related lab experience and/or technical skills Experience with mouse tail vein, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and intra-muscular injections.  Experience with mammalian cell culture, stable cell lines and cell bioassay

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
