**JOB SUMMARY**
To provide intermediate-level technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and modification of medical and laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
+ Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic malfunctions.
+ Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities according to blueprints or written specifications.
+ Examines and tests equipment to identify the cause of malfunctions or inaccuracies.
+ Disassemble equipment to locate malfunctioning components and repair or replace defective parts.
+ Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components to ensure specified operation.
+ Participates in the development of quality control and preventive maintenance programs.
+ Runs safety tests on potentially all medical and/or laboratory equipment and record documentation.
+ Adheres to internal controls established for the department.
+ Performs related duties as required.

Understanding of standard research laboratory equipment
