Three years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position. **LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS** N/A **JOB SUMMARY** To provide intermediate-level technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and modification of medical and laboratory equipment and instrumentation. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** + Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic malfunctions. + Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities according to blueprints or written specifications. + Examines and tests equipment to identify the cause of malfunctions or inaccuracies. + Disassemble equipment to locate malfunctioning components and repair or replace defective parts. + Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components to ensure specified operation. + Participates in the development of quality control and preventive maintenance programs. + Runs safety tests on potentially all medical and/or laboratory equipment and record documentation. + Adheres to internal controls established for the department. + Performs related duties as required. **KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES** Understanding of standard research laboratory equipment **SALARY RANGE:** Commensurate with experience. **EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:** UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
