JOB SUMMARY
To provide the basic technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and modification of simple medical and research laboratory equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Reads and interprets blueprints, wiring, diagrams, and technical manuals used in conjunction with the repair of research laboratory equipment.
Examines equipment for signs of improper operation and evidence of deterioration.
Aids in the development of quality control and preventative maintenance.
Utilizes mechanical and electronic skills to test, evaluate, calibrate, overhaul, install, modify, and update various types of research laboratory electronic systems.
Performs safety checks on research laboratory equipment.
Documents work done on all equipment, such as the results of checks, diagnoses, and repairs.
Adheres to internal controls established for the department.
Performs related duties as required.
