**Job Summary**
The BIM Manager for the Rail & Transit group at TYLin US will lead the integration and management of Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows, utilizing cutting-edge software such as OpenRoads Designer, OpenRail Designer (ORD), Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. This position involves oversight of digital processes, training, standards implementation, and ensuring alignment with both internal and client-specific CAD/BIM standards. **Responsibilities & Qualifications**
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
**Leadership & Strategic Direction:**
+ Lead and expand the Rail & Transit BIM practice, collaborating closely with Digital Delivery leaders and sector leadership.
+ Develop and lead a Digital Delivery program for the Rail & Transit Sector and coordinate and collaborate with other Sectors.
+ Represent TYLin in client and stakeholder meetings concerning digital delivery and BIM execution plans.
**Technical & Operational Management:**
+ Manage and enhance company BIM standards and protocols aligned with industry best practices.
+ Oversee the development of project-specific BIM and CAD standards, templates, and workflows.
+ Coordinate directly with IT for software/hardware requirements and upgrades.
+ Provide technical support and oversight for project model optimization and efficient digital delivery.
+ Inventory and assess current CAD/BIM capabilities, reviewing software, hardware, and staff skillset.
+ Apply CAD/BIM expertise and skill in the development of detailed construction plans.
+ Prepare visual simulations and renderings.
**Training & Development:**
+ Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs in ORD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and BIM methodologies & workflows.
+ Mentor staff, ensuring continuous development in digital competencies and technical excellence.
+ Lead the onboarding and training of new and existing staff on project-specific BIM / CAD standards and workflows.
+ Prepare and execute a training program specifically for Rail & Transit staff on OpenRoads/OpenRail.
**Quality Assurance & Control:**
+ Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with BIM execution plans and CAD standards.
+ Maintain oversight of project file management, ensuring efficient organization and consistency.
+ Ensure QA/QC procedures for all digital deliverables meet TYLin’s quality standards.
+ Coordinate with project and task managers and participate in plan production and QA/QC.
**Project Delivery & Coordination:**
+ Provide direct technical support on critical projects, facilitating efficient and accurate digital delivery.
+ Engage actively in the coordination and integration of multi-disciplinary BIM models.
+ Collaborate closely with project managers, model managers, and external contractors to meet project milestones effectively.
+ Review project onboarding documentation, including BIM Execution Plans and project-specific CAD standards.
+ Manage distribution and workspace development for new projects, updating existing projects as necessary.
+ Train staff in efficient creation of deliverables including hardcopy, PDF, batch plots, and electronic transfers.
**Qualifications & Skills:**
+ Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in BIM/CAD management, ideally in Rail & Transit or similar infrastructure sectors.
+ Proficiency in OpenRoads/OpenRail Designer, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
+ Proven experience developing and implementing CAD/BIM standards.
+ Demonstrable ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
+ Familiarity with rail and transit agency standards.
+ Experience at a Project Information manager (PIM), Model Manager or Project BIM Manager is desirable.
+ Knowledge of working with macros, electronic delivery, networking, hardware/software installations, and troubleshooting is desirable.
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
+ Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or related field desirable but not required.
**Additional Information**
TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $110,000 - $170,000 annually for this position and local market.
