BIM Coordinator

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE

The BIM Coordinator supports the design and engineering of electrical cable systems by managing BIM models and ensuring they align with project requirements and environmental constraints. They assist in optimizing designs for feasibility, produce technical documentation, and coordinate model exchanges between design teams and subcontractors. The BIM Coordinator ensures consistency, accuracy, and compliance in project data, while contributing to the efficient execution of BIM workflows.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessing the current resources on current projects to ensure that they are sufficient to meet the project goals.Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.Compliance with national and EU legislation on information management for each individual project (e.g ISO 19650, UNI 11337).Supporting the BIM Manager in the development of BIM execution plan (BEP), TIDPs/MIDPs, MPDT.Developing the client's digital handover strategy.Developing and maintaining an understanding of IFC, COBie, Uniclass and other classifications or any applicable standards for clients.Support the BIM Manager in monitoring digital handover to completion.Support the BIM Manager in producing information requirements (OIR, AIR, PIR and EIR) as per ISO 19650.Support the Bim Manager in producing information standards, methods and procedures, and shared resources.Researching compliance with new regulations and governance.Drafting of an informational management plan with the support of the BIM Manager.Object library development in alignment with wider BIM strategy.Perform assurance and checking of the information model using clash detection and BIM validation tools.Producing the information model.Support the project manager in reviewing current technology solutions and research new solutions that can be used to improve the BIM process including emerging technologies.Supporting construction sequencing strategy using information models.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering or similarBIM Certification / BIM Master or similarFull proficiency in both written and spoken English

Minimum Experience and Skills:

3 year specific experience in electrical engineering (energy industry is a plus)Proven experience in large linear infrastructural projects.Experience of BIM processes within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.knowledge of cable construction and main characteristics.Proficency with the softwares Revit, Civil 3D, Naviswork or similar.Proven experience in the use of CDE (e.g Autodesk construction cloud) as information exchange platform.Basic Knowledge Python, Dynamo, Speckle would be an advantage.
