Job Summary
The Bilingual Patient Support Specialist (PSS) works within the Patient Support Program (PSP), supporting patients who are enrolled in various drug reimbursement programs offered through PSP by answering incoming calls and outbound calls (as required). The PSS will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate information is provided to patients and other callers inquiring about drug coverage, claims status, adherence, and various other program requirements. The PSS will also provide administrative support to various drug reimbursement programs where required.
**This role is a full time, 12 MONTH CONTRACT position with rotating evening shift (12pm-8pm) availability required.**
Specific Responsibilities
The Patient Services Specialist will be responsible for the timely enrollment of the patient into the Patient Support ProgramLiaise with the patient, insurer and physician regarding the documentation required for maximum reimbursement coverage, including the exploration of all public and private insurers and providing employer escalations as requiredConduct information and conduct patient financial assessment eligibility based on program guidelinesProvide responses to general inquiry calls based on information provided as part of the program materialsCoordination with Specialty and Retail pharmacies to ensure that the patient has access to the required treatmentProactively monitor the patient’s file to ensure that reimbursement and financial assistance renewals are done in a timely mannerProcess documents supporting the patient’s care, including infusion reports, lab results, copaysReceive, record and report Adverse Events as per the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer requirementsParticipate and assist in departmental continuous improvement activities related to process, quality, training, etcMaintain service levels in case management, including telephone answer rates, time to initial contact with the patientAdverse Events reported within twenty-four hours of receipt and any other Key Performance Indicators established as the Program levelPerform data-entry, answer inbound calls, make outbound calls, manage e-mail and fax software, general administrative functions including faxing, filing.Competencies
Experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical or insurance industry would be an assetStrong customer service, communication, problem solving skills requiredComfortable working in a contact centre environmentProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel)Team PlayerPost-secondary education or equivalentOrganized with a high attention to detailExcellent verbal and written skills in English (and French if a Bilingual role)Flexibility in working rotational or variety of different hours (hours of operation are 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday)Requirements
