Description
We are looking for an experienced Billing Supervisor or Manager to join our client's dynamic legal Billing team in New York, New York. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in legal billing processes and leadership skills to manage and enhance departmental operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to oversee a team and drive efficiency in billing practices.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee a team of up to six billing professionals, ensuring accurate and timely execution of billing tasks.
• Implement best practices to streamline legal billing processes and improve departmental efficiency.
• Monitor accounts receivable to maintain financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas, to analyze billing data and generate reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with billing standards and organizational policies.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering growth and development.
• Manage and optimize the use of accounting software systems to enhance billing operations.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to address inquiries and ensure satisfaction.
• Assist in rebuilding and restructuring the billing department to align with organizational goals.
• Develop strategies to improve overall billing accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing management or a similar role.
• Expertise in legal billing processes and familiarity with relevant software systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and financial reconciliation.
• Ability to implement and optimize accounting software systems.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to improve departmental operations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and clients.
