Billing Specialist
**POSITION SUMMARY** The Billing Specialist is responsible for reviewing billing data/information, maintain timely submission of bills to insurances and clients and maintain accurate billing records and documentation. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** : + Review, prepare and issue accurate billing data to payors and customers based on contracts, services rendered and product deliveries. + Respond to billing inquiries and help resolve discrepancies. + Maintain up to date records of billing transactions. + Collaborate with internal departments to ensure billing accuracy. + Generate reports related to Billing and Collections. + Applies knowledge of company processes and procedures to respond to incoming communication from insurance companies, patients and internal departments. + Performs other related duties as assigned. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** : • Prior Revenue Cycle Management experience preferred (Billing or Collections). • One to two years customer service or provider relations experience preferred. • Associate degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years relevant working experience. **COMMUNICATION SKILLS** • Ability to provide superior customer service and meet customer satisfaction expectations. • Detail & Team Oriented • Communication & Writing Skills • Organization/Time Management Skills • Human Relation Skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Detail oriented with a focus on exceptional customer service. • Excellent PC skills and organizational skills. **TECHNICAL SKILLS** • Basic Excel, Word and Outlook experience required. • Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy using Alere Home Monitoring data management systems which are directly related to the specific job function. • Strong Computer/Software Skills **PHYSICAL ABILITIES** • Perform some repetitive motion activities. • Sit for long periods of time. • Requires close vision and the ability to adjust eye focus often. • Required to reach with hands and arms. **WORK SCHEDULE** • Must be able to work the shift established at the designated work site. • Must be able to work an 8-hour shift. • Must be able to work Monday through Friday • Occasional weekend work may be required.
