Description Are you an experienced billing professional with solid accounting knowledge and a desire to work with a leading company in the downtown Houston area? Our client is seeking a Billing Specialist for a contract-to-hire position to join their dynamic and fast-paced Billing Department. About the Role: As a Billing Specialist, you will report directly to the Billing Supervisor and play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and credit memo management. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and adept communication to collaborate with internal teams and external clients effectively. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare accurate daily customer invoices by gathering and reviewing relevant information. + Verify invoices against sales orders, customer agreements, and shipping documents, updating as needed. + Release orders from invoice holds once reviews are completed. + Engage with internal teams and external clients to gather missing information or paperwork required for invoicing. + Review and approve credit memos and supporting documentation. + Research discrepancies related to pricing and quantities, working closely with stakeholders to resolve issues. + Ensure completed files are reviewed and efficiently closed out. + Execute miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Billing Supervisor. Requirements Required Qualifications: + 2–3 years of accounting and/or billing experience. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (2–3 years).
