Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our non-profit organization in New York, New York. This contract position plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of clinical billing processes, contributing to the organization's commitment to delivering quality services. Responsibilities: • Enter and update patient and financial data, including diagnosis codes and procedure codes, with precision and attention to detail. • Verify the accuracy of inputted information by cross-checking against original documents and established billing guidelines. • Collaborate with coding specialists to ensure proper assignment and compliance with diagnosis and procedure codes. • Conduct routine quality checks to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in recorded data. • Maintain organized records and ensure all documentation aligns with regulatory and organizational standards. • Support the clinical billing team by addressing data discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze billing-related data effectively. • Uphold confidentiality and security measures when handling sensitive patient information. Requirements • Proven experience in data entry, particularly within billing or financial operations. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with medical billing codes and guidelines is preferred. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and resolve discrepancies. • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. • Prior experience in a non-profit or healthcare setting is a plus.
