Billing Clerk
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team in Everett, Washington. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing and managing invoices, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the organization’s operational goals. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, with potential for hybrid work flexibility once established in the role. Responsibilities: • Prepare and submit contract and grant invoices to funding agencies in a timely manner. • Organize and maintain accurate contract and grant files, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. • Generate internal reports related to invoicing and financial data as needed. • Address and resolve invoicing discrepancies by collaborating with appropriate teams. • Input invoice data into the general ledger system through journal entries or file imports. • Assist with the annual budgeting process and support preparation for audits. • Provide financial guidance to program staff and administrative teams as required. • Identify and implement internal control improvements and process enhancements. • Act as a backup for the Accounts Receivable Specialist, ensuring seamless operations. • Participate in special projects and other duties to support the organization's mission. Requirements • Associate degree in Accounting or at least five years of relevant accounting experience. • Familiarity with mid-size to large business financial software systems. • Previous experience in nonprofit accounting or working with governmental contracts is a plus. • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, including analyzing and resolving issues promptly. • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to process improvement. • Ability to take initiative, manage responsibilities independently, and meet deadlines. • Demonstrated understanding of financial processes and the ability to visualize solutions.
