Job Description
The Billing Clerk is responsible for managing the billing process from start to finish. This role ensures accurate customer quotes, timely invoicing, maintaining up-to-date customer records, and resolving billing-related inquiries. Collaborating closely with supervisors and managers, the Billing Clerk verifies charges, prepares invoices and credit memos, and issues them to customers via mail or email. Additionally, the role involves calculating amounts owed, updating billing systems, and supporting financial operations through document management and customer service. Coordination with other departments and attention to detail are crucial to ensure smooth billing cycles and customer satisfaction.
ResponsibilitiesManage the billing process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Verify charges and prepare invoices and credit memos.Issue invoices and credit memos to customers via mail or email.Calculate amounts owed and update billing systems.Maintain up-to-date customer records and resolve billing-related inquiries.Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth billing cycles and customer satisfaction.Support financial operations through document management and customer service.Essential SkillsProficient in data entry, specifically inputting detailed and accurate shipment quote information.Strong attention to detail for quoting accurate information to clients.Experience in logistics, invoicing, and medical billing.Knowledge of transportation, quoting, customer service, accounts receivable, and billing collections.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly email communication.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED equivalent.Efficient in the use of MS Office, specifically email as the main form of communication with customers.One-year of business billing experience is nice to have.Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.Work Environment
The work environment is an office setting with a team of around 13 members in the department. It features a cubicle setup and a casual dress code, excluding workout wear. The position is on-site with a training shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Shifts can vary between the operating hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and will be discussed during the interview process.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
