Description We are looking for a skilled Billing Clerk to join a reputable law firm in Mandeville, Louisiana. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a critical role in managing electronic billing processes, ensuring timely invoice creation, and maintaining accurate financial records. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and have experience in billing and accounting practices. Responsibilities: • Manage high-volume electronic billing processes, particularly during the first 10-15 days of the month. • Utilize billing platforms and portals to efficiently process invoices and oversee client accounts. • Prepare and issue vendor checks on a daily basis to ensure timely payments. • Generate accounts receivable reports and identify overdue accounts for follow-up. • Draft and send written correspondence for accounts that are over 90 days past due, without requiring collections calls. • Create, review, and finalize accurate invoices in alignment with firm policies. • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and address billing discrepancies. • Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with billing procedures and legal standards. • Support the firm’s accounting functions by handling additional billing tasks as needed. • Continuously monitor and improve billing processes for greater efficiency. Requirements • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in billing and accounting, with legal industry experience preferred but not required. • Proficiency in using billing portals and electronic billing systems. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation. • Ability to run accounts receivable reports and effectively manage overdue accounts. • Detail-oriented approach and presentation suitable for a law firm environment. • Familiarity with accounting software systems and computerized billing processes. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. • Strong written communication skills for drafting client correspondence.
