We’re working with a highly regarded law firm in Edinburgh that is looking to appoint a Billing Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with legal billing or professional services finance experience to take on a busy, varied role within a collaborative business support environment.

You'll support the finance and billing function by helping ensure client matters are billed promptly, accurately, and in line with internal procedures. You’ll be part of a professional and friendly team that plays a key role in managing the firm’s revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Managing the end-to-end billing process, including drafting and editing billsLiaising with fee earners and support staff to ensure billing is completed on scheduleProcessing write-offs, time transfers, and disbursement checksMonitoring the billing inbox and responding to internal queriesWorking with wider finance and credit control teams to ensure accuracy and complianceAssisting with ad hoc finance tasks and month-end processes 
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in a billing or finance assistant role within a law firm or professional services environmentStrong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detailComfortable working with billing software and financial systems (e.g. Aderant, Elite, or similar)Good communication skills and confidence liaising with staff at all levelsOrganised, proactive, and comfortable managing a high-volume workload
