Job Summary/Description:

We are searching for a dynamic, bilingual news-driven journalist who is passionate about informing our local community and thrives in a fast-paced, digital-first newsroom.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who can take the lead in producing original content for our digital platforms in Spanish, engage viewers through live streams, and deliver standout segments that keep audiences coming back.

As the Bilingual Multiplatform News Anchor/Producer, you'll confidently solo-anchor from our OTT/TV studio and produce each digital segment from start to finish. You will also play a key role in daily newsroom operations and help shape the workflow that drives our multiplatform content strategy.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

- Producing and anchoring multiple daily digital segments for OTT and social platforms in native Spanish.
- Collaborating with show producers and anchors, assisting in repurposing news content.
- Regularly posting and updating stories and local content on the web and social media platforms.
- Actively interacting with viewers on social media, including maintaining a consistent presence on Facebook Live and Instagram.
- Developing a broad, working knowledge of the viewing area, including key people, places, events, and local personalities.
- Researching, gathering, shooting, writing, and editing news stories for both on-air and online publication.
- Participating in daily editorial meetings.
- Filling in on other newscasts as needed.
- Writing in a clear, concise, and conversational style in native Spanish.
- Demonstrating strong interviewing skills and conversational on-air delivery.
- Reporting live during breaking news situations.
- Developing and maintaining reliable sources of information.
- Exercising excellent news judgment in story selection and presentation.
- Pitching and producing enterprise, hard-news, and research-driven stories under tight deadlines.
- Meeting tight deadlines and working effectively under pressure.
- Maintaining professional and ethical conduct both inside the station and in the community.
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Staying up to date with national and local news developments.
- Attending, hosting, or speaking at special events.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a newsroom preferred, anchoring/reporting experience a plus.
- The bilingual speaker/writer must be highly proficient in both Spanish and English.
- Experience using ENPS and Edius preferred.
- BS/BA in Journalism or communications preferred.
- Ability to shoot, write, and edit your own stories.
- Must be capable of working under pressure and meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with the OTT procedures and operations.
- Scheduling flexibility is required.
- Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Must work well independently and as part of a team.
- Must be coachable and open to feedback.
- Excellent editorial news judgment.
- Experience with posting stories on digital platforms and social media.
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish, both oral and written.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess a valid driver's license; A motor vehicle record check is required before hiring.
- Management has the right to alter assignments as needed.
- Demonstrate solid writing skills in native Spanish with grammar, accuracy, and an unbiased manner for digital platforms.
