Bilingual Business Development Associate
The Guaranteed Investments sales team is looking for an energetic, motivated, and focused team member. As part of the Manulife Retail Distribution sales team, the **Business Development Associate** supports members of a Guaranteed Investments sales team that includes both external wholesalers (DVPs) and internal wholesalers (BDMs). You will partner with the sales team to achieve sales targets by understanding the sales needs of each of your territories, participating in business development initiatives, and working directly with the wholesalers as a team. This opportunity offers a long-term professional career path for selected candidates. Each year, we undergo a talent review process, and selected candidates will be encouraged to participate in an established training program to prepare them to advance to a Business Development Manager (BDM) role. This role can also take you to a variety of other business units within Manulife, including but not limited to Marketing, Product Management, Insurance and Banking. A basic knowledge of retail wealth products, such as Segregated Funds, Guaranteed Interest Accounts and Annuities, will provide you with a high probability of success in this role. **Position Responsibilities:** **Marketing and Sales Support:** + Coordinate and distribute advisor marketing materials, event sponsorships, and charitable donations in line with company policies. + Create targeted mailing groups to promote specific funds or product features. + Serve as the team's reporting specialist by generating sales analysis reports using Salesforce.com or Power BI. + Participate in developing, monitoring, and executing the Territory Business Plan, including budget oversight. + Collaborate with departments like Compliance, Client Services, Marketing, and Events as needed to maximize sales impact. **Utilize and Leverage Technology:** + Become proficient in Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) and Salesforce.com. + Manage email distribution lists and execute e-marketing campaigns, adhering to Canada Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). + Collaborate with Digital Marketing to facilitate campaigns and create templates. + Oversee eNewsletter distributions and e-marketing strategy for the team. **Advisor Meetings/Small Events:** + Coordinate regular team meetings and request access to Portfolio Managers and other specialists for advisor briefings. + Assist in planning and executing educational and promotional events, including logistics such as venue booking, menu selection, invitation management, and budget adherence. + Book local restaurants for advisor meetings and distribute marketing materials and promotional items. + Occasionally travel for training, meetings, and event execution. **Required Qualifications:** + **Bilingual (French & English) is required** - The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec. + Post-secondary education is required + Strong written and verbal communication skills are required + Strong PC skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
