Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Big Data Engineer to join their team. As a Big Data Engineer, you will be part of the Technology Department supporting Cloud Infrastructure and Data Engineering Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, technical leadership abilities, and collaborative problem-solving skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Big Data Engineer (Hadoop Developer)
**Location:** Hybrid – Charlotte, NC
**Type:** W2 contract – not open to C2C
**Terms:** Long term project; potential to convert FTE
**What’s the Job?**
+ Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
+ Provide operational support for technology projects and programs, including upgrades and deployments
+ Evaluate and resolve moderately complex technical challenges involving various technologies and procedures
+ Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to solve issues and meet goals
+ Drive cloud migration and data engineering efforts using modern big data platforms
**What’s Needed?**
+ 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent (training, education, or military experience)
+ Proficiency in Python, Unix/Shell scripting, or Spark (5+ years)
+ 3+ years of experience working with Kubernetes
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience with GCP and cloud migration from on-prem environments
+ 4+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop technologies
