In Thales, a Bid Manager plays a pivotal role in the acquisition of new projects and contracts. While the specific responsibilities may vary depending on the sector and location, the typical role of a Bid Manager in Thales includes:
Bid Management: They oversee the entire process from identifying opportunities, creating proposals, to final bid submission.
Cross-functional Coordination: They work closely with various teams within the organization such as sales, finance, legal, and technical departments to compile necessary details for the bid.
Proposal Development: They are responsible for the creation of compelling and compliant proposals that align with Thales's capabilities and respond accurately to the prospective client's requirements.
Risk Assessment: They conduct a thorough risk analysis of potential projects and come up with mitigation strategies, ensuring these are integrated into the bidding process.
Client Relationship: They are often the point of contact for clients during the bid process, managing queries, negotiating contract terms, and working diligently to secure the contract.
Process Improvement: They are expected to continuously improve the bid process based on feedback from failed and successful bids to increase the success rate in the future.
As part of the Bids & Projects Team you will contribute to the acquisition of new projects. The qualifications for a Bid Manager typically vary depending on the industry and nature of the organization, but the following are often considered important:
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
A bachelor's degree is generally required, preferably in engineering, business, finance, marketing, or a related field.
Several years of experience in bid management, sales, quality or a related field is usually required.
Experience in the Defense industry and Chorus 2.0 process can be a plus.
Experience with project management, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, is essential.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are crucial, as the role involves significant interaction with other departments and potentially with clients as well.
Familiarity with the bidding or procurement processes, market trends, and cost estimating can be advantageous.

You must have fluent English level (B2+) and high or native level of Spanish.
