**CTG is seeking to fill a BI Developer (Application Developer/Microsoft Analytics) opening for our client in Houston, TX.**
**Location:** Houston, TX
**Duration:** 12 months
**Duties:**
+ Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence, data warehousing, and reporting applications using Microsoft BI tools such as Power BI, Power BI Report Builder (Paginated), Power BI Embedded Services, and SSRS.
+ Write and optimize complex queries using Power Query, DAX, R, and T-SQL.
+ Develop and implement security features for BI solutions, ensuring compliance and data protection.
+ Optimize Microsoft Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.
+ Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
**Skills:**
+ Strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI (desktop, paginated, embedded) and SQL Server programming.
+ Proficiency in Power Query, DAX, R, and T-SQL for data modeling, calculations, and transformations.
+ Experience implementing security, usability, and performance enhancements in Power BI dashboards.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into BI solutions.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
**Nice-to-Have Skills:**
+ Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python.
+ Solid understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, data modeling, data warehousing).
+ Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (preferably Databricks).
+ Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
+ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
**Experience:**
+ Proven experience as a BI Developer working with Microsoft BI tools and SQL Server.
+ Experience building complex reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
+ Background in implementing and maintaining BI security, performance optimization, and governance best practices.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
