BI Analyst Senior Apply Now **Job Summary** The Revenue Cycle Analytics and Reporting team seeks a Business Intelligence Analyst (BI Analyst) to transform data into actionable insights that enhance Revenue Cycle Operations and drive revenue optimization. The BI Analyst is responsible for managing data retrieval, building high-performing data models, developing compelling visualizations, and performing complex analyses to address business challenges. This role involves designing and administering data structures and extracts to support comprehensive reporting and analysis. The BIA also develops analytical tools to identify and solve operational issues, manages multiple projects with detailed timelines and documentation, and escalates risks as needed. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills. The BI Analyst will collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Michigan Medicine leadership, and customers, as well as partner closely with Health Information Technology & Services (HITS). **Mission Statement** Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society. **Responsibilities*** + Assist in identifying and leading change management processes for new/improved business processes, BI tools, analytics methodologies, and resources. + Assist in strategic assessments to identify current/emerging business issues/problems and contribute to defining high impact business intelligence solutions. + Fulfill complex data requests using advanced querying tools such as Toad, Tableau or SQL against Clarity, Caboodle and HSDW. + Develop and maintain reports, visualizations, and dashboards using tools including Tableau, Epic Radar & SlicerDicer, Toad, and Excel. + Support Regional data and analysis requests for Charge, Payment, Avoidable Write-Offs & Denials + Works with customers to design compelling, modern visualizations via dashboard or reports to display actionable information for solving complex business problems. + Manage and/or administer the design and development of high-performing data models to support comprehensive data collection, loading, and extraction for complex analyses and visualizations. + Compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. + Support or manage many special projects simultaneously which are focused on enhancing reporting, analysis, and internal workflows. + Maintain deep subject matter expertise in Revenue Cycle data, particularly within Epic systems. **Required Qualifications*** + BA or BS in quantitative field with 5+ years of experience with data extraction, using sophisticated analytics in a complex reporting environment to produce high performing, modern reports, visualizations, and dashboards. + Extensive experience using SQL, and other programming language to manipulate complex data sets. + Excellent communication skills and proven experience gathering business requirements. + 5+ years of experience with complex analytics to produce high performing visualization tools. + Experience using Tableau. + Ability to work in a team environment, sharing information and mentoring other analysts. **Desired Qualifications*** + Clarity experience, experience with Epic Revenue Cycle data, experience with Slicer Dicer and Reporting Workbench. + Power BI experience. **Modes of Work** Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
