BI Analyst II

This position is responsible for supporting and managing a program of business unit-focused initiatives designed to help business partners drive value from information. Contributes to Charter’s success by ensuring business needs and goals are realized through analysis and reporting activities of the Business Intelligence Group.

Responsible for supporting the Manager or Director of Business Intelligence to empower Charter business leaders with concise, high-quality information, helping them leverage it to identify and address business opportunities and threats. Provides consultation on the interpretation of data to various business partners throughout the organization.

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experienceProvide advice and education in the usage and interpretation of business data relevant to the business unitCommunicate data nuances and insights to all levels of the company in a clear and concise mannerInstill best practices and assists users at all levels within the company on how to leverage BI capabilities for accurate reporting and analysisLeverage knowledge of Business Intelligence capabilities and familiarity with business trends in identifying patterns, opportunities and threatsWork closely with business partners in gathering detailed business requirements, establishing business definitions, translating to technical requirements for development team and gaining approvalInteract with senior management or executive level customers and provides support as neededCreate report mock ups based on requirements and coordinates with technical team in finalizing design and receiving sign offSupport all scheduled and non-recurring information needs of the business usersUnderstand data elements in the warehouse at a very detailed grain to support any form of user needs from research to adhoc querying to managing large information projectsQuery large datasets and tables comfortably to provide information requested by business usersPresent data in a fashion that is easy to understand with proper documentation for successful user adoptionManage detailed plans on small to medium sized projects to ensure successful completionMaintain metadata dictionaries and report definitionsWork with cross functional teams to ensure alignment in business needs, timelines and department standardsCreate test plans and scenarios and conducts testing to ensure quality and requirements traceability to final deliverableActively identify solutions to enhance the existing Business Intelligence infrastructure processes and technologyUnderstand and evaluates cross functional and system to system impacts of requirements and change requestsUses advanced Excel skills to capture and communicate data findingsLiaison among the business, development and support teams to ensure solutions being developed meet or exceed business needsPerform other duties as requested

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishExceptionally strong communication skills both written and verbalProven experience and passion for leveraging data to drive business impactIntermediate to advanced statistical knowledge and intuition ideally utilized in A/B or multivariate testing (or related analytics)Advanced SQL skillsExperience with reporting/Business Intelligence tools is preferred (MicroStrategy, Redshift is a plus)Ability to speak to large groups with excellent presentation skillsAbility to perform critical thinking in the area of data analysis with advanced analytical skillsStrong team and relationship building skillsHigh attention to detail and qualityAbility to work independently with minimal guidance, prioritize and organize effectively and manage multiple projects/assignmentsAbility to perform in a fast-paced environmentProject management skillsAbility to understand complex business processes, rules and gain business acumen to become subject matter expertExperience with data visualization standards and techniques to visually summarize data and insights is a plusExpertise with BI Data Modeling concepts such as Star/Snowflake Schema, Dimensions and Facts

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, or Business Administration or relevant experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

5+ years relevant technical or business work experienceExperience with Cable TV, Internet, and/or Phone products & services or other related industry experience is a plus.
