Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesEssential responsibilities and duties
The BG Commodity Manager of display is responsible for Business Group commodity strategy, global supplier panel, deployment of commodity best practices and tools as well as budget achievement. He/she defines innovation criteria to evaluate supplier innovation capabilities for the commodity, manages activities of Regional Commodity Buyers to leverage global purchasing spend, and leads negotiations with global suppliers as appropriate.
The main missions of the role are:
o Carry out global scouting and supplier integration activities
o Define supplier convergence roadmap according to global and regional commodity strategy
o Accountable for management of global suppliers including risk management, propose supplier status accordingly
o Identify innovation capabilities of global suppliers and product/techno innovation
o Decide to launch new supplier integration activities accordingly
o Foster innovation by facilitating Regional Commodity Managers and Commodity Buyers efforts to identify breakthrough solutions from suppliers
o Define the SRM strategy and objectives (mid and long term) for the Commodity at global and regional level
o Manage directly strategic suppliers' relationships by negotiating and implementing frame contracts
o Consolidate budget and SP inputs from Regional managers and challenge them
o Propose commodity performance for each Division,
o Converge with Purchasing Division Director to align commodity's performance with Division purchasing budget
o Analyze performance for their Commodity (global and regional scope)
o Accountable for implementing budget, Cost savings, cash improvement, Quality and Delivery
o Negotiate sensitive / strategic contracts with global suppliers in coordination with commodity buyers and program team
o Ensure consistency between Commodity strategy and costing
o Challenge Commodity managers and Commodity buyers regarding their cost modelling inputs vs performance for panel competitiveness
o Develop more advanced cost modelling methodologies and inputs to Finance
o Ensure the deployment of Commodity strategy in Programs
o Validate Supplier Selection along with the BG Program Purchasing Director
o Contribute to Sourcing Nomination Committees for strategic programs
o Ensure the deployment of the BG or Group commodity strategy
o Support overall performance of purchasing productivity projects (internal and external)
o Animate network and manage hierarchically the Commodity Managers & Buyers for their Commodity
o Manage the Commodity team and allocate suppliers to Commodity Managers / Buyers
o Provide expertise, share and deploy best practices to commodity managers and buyers under their responsibility
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be :
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business.
Experience:
o Minimum 8 years experience in Purchasing or sales/engineering/program in a display industrial environment, including a commodity buyer experience
Nice to have: Proven experience in a management role
Skills and competencies:
o Deep understanding of business practices, market dynamics and trends of Display
o Knowledge of Purchasing contractual and legal aspects
o Ability to formalize a global commodity strategy
o Fluent in English
o International mindset
o Ability to work in a matrix organization
o Strong business understanding and negotiation skills

o Knowledge of assigned commodity (Display products, technologies, cost models)
o Financial skill
