Job Purpose and Impact
The Best Practice Engineer applies engineering techniques to assist in the improvement of manufacturing processes and products. In this role, you will provide technical support, operations experience, continuous improvement and project management skills in a plant support capacity that ensures safe, efficient and low-cost plant operations.
Key AccountabilitiesYou will handle manufacturing equipment and processes designed to be efficient, cost-effective, and to promote quality and reliability.Assesses current manufacturing equipment and processes and makes recommendations for improvements.To implement Best Practices from Manufacturing Excellence Program, identify the gaps, provide and execute action planHelps in conducting tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity.Be the champion to implement Manufacturing Excellence (ME) program such as stable ops program, Process Operability and Contralability (POC) in production and packaging department, to provide trainings and facilitate activities in ME programs.Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.Other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experienceOther minimum qualifications may applyPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science, or any other related subjects or minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably from Palm Oil industry in engineering role.Has experience in running refinery processes – Multistock deodorizer, Palm oil fractionation and Hydrogenation plant, involvement in product planning/ developmentExperience in operating Refinery and Neutralizing and have basic understanding of process plant reliability conceptStrong data analysis capabilities including continuous improvement experience or certificationsPossesses working knowledge of engineering subject matterUse of PI (data historian), ACAD (auto CAD), MS Project programsProject management experience gained through prior experiencePossess good interpersonal skills, result oriented and a strong team playerCan work with all level of people in the organization and have trouble shooting skill and experienceWilling to be based at WestportKEY BEHAVIORS
