Benefits Customer Service Associate
Description We are looking for dedicated and detail-oriented professionals to join our team as Benefits Customer Service Associates. In this contract position, you will assist employees and retirees with health benefit inquiries during Baltimore City's Open Enrollment period. This role includes paid training, followed by a high-volume support period, and requires strong customer service skills. Responsibilities: • Provide accurate and timely assistance to employees and retirees regarding health benefits during the Open Enrollment period. • Complete data entry tasks efficiently and ensure records are maintained in accordance with organizational standards. • Utilize training on the Workday system to navigate and manage benefit-related inquiries. • Address customer concerns with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment. • Deliver exceptional customer service while handling high call volumes. • Support the team in filing and organizing documents to ensure easy accessibility. • Apply knowledge of healthcare terminology and insurance eligibility to address inquiries effectively. • Participate in a two-week paid training program to understand benefits eligibility requirements and system processes. • Assist with the extension of Open Enrollment support if required. • Adhere to all organizational policies, including completing background checks and drug screenings. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent certification required. • Minimum of two years of experience in office support, preferably in health insurance or customer service. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized data entry systems. • Familiarity with healthcare terminology, medical insurance, and Medicare eligibility is preferred. • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle challenging customer interactions. • Strong organizational skills to manage records and documentation effectively. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. • Knowledge of the Workday system is a plus.
