Description We are looking for a dedicated Benefits Customer Service Associate to support employees and retirees during the City of Baltimore’s Open Enrollment period. This contract position offers an opportunity to assist with health benefits inquiries and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. The role includes a comprehensive two-week training program to prepare candidates for the enrollment process.
Responsibilities:
• Assist employees and retirees with inquiries related to health benefits during the Open Enrollment period.
• Provide accurate information about benefits eligibility, plan options, and enrollment processes.
• Handle high volumes of calls and emails with professionalism and efficiency.
• Input and update employee and retiree information using the Workday system.
• Maintain organized records and ensure proper documentation of benefit-related transactions.
• Resolve customer concerns with tact and diplomacy, ensuring a positive experience.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and support overall enrollment efforts.
• Participate in paid training sessions to gain knowledge of Baltimore’s benefits system and processes.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including confidentiality and data security.
• Notify management promptly regarding any issues or potential extensions of the assignment. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service or office support, preferably in health insurance or benefits administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized data entry systems.
• Familiarity with healthcare terminology, medical insurance, and Medicare eligibility is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle challenging customer interactions.
• Experience with the Workday system is highly desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
