Scope of Work: Provides implementation and administration of all company benefit programs. Ensures a competitive position in the marketplace and enables employees to make informed healthcare decisions. This position reports directly to the Benefits Manager.
Responsibilities
Responsible for administration of all Company offered benefit programs, processing enrollments, changes and terminations based on employee/dependent eligibility. This position also works closely with benefit brokers in order to maintain a competitive, cost-effective and attractive employee benefit plan.
Uses Gaylor Performance Values as tools to carry out all job responsibilities. Works independently to perform various complex administration duties. Organizes and prioritizes workload to meet deadlines. Conducts benefits orientation and open enrollment meetings. Processes all enrollments, requests for changes and terminations related to benefit plans. Reviews all employee completed forms to ensure they are complete and accurate. Develops, prepares and distributes employee benefits booklets and other employee benefit communications. Responds to inquiries from employees on types of coverage and communicates changes to coverage to covered individuals and families. Responds to employee questions related to eligibility and termination of benefits. Maintains records to assist in processing employee claims. Communicates with insurance carriers to ensure that all COBRA notifications are processed within established government guidelines. Complies with all HIPAA regulations and communicates with employees, spouses, etc. with these regulations in mind. Processes all insurance provider billings timely and accurately. Acts as liaison between the Company and various carriers and also with internal and external auditors. Negotiates and manages relationships with insurers. Handles routine human resources inquiries/situations through direct personal action or referral to appropriate individual. Provides an updated assessment of department administration status and performance to the Chief Administrative Officer, as directed. Recommends improvements in accordance with established departmental goals and objectives. Communicates with and coordinates among insurance carrier, physicians, attorneys and other parties to collect/provide information, investigate and process claims. Maintains files and provides support in defense of claims. May serve as liaison with the community or other external agencies with regard to Company/ department activities, programs, and needs. Answers telephone calls, provides information and redirects calls as appropriate. Handles unusual and/or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or referral to appropriate individual. Arranges meetings and conferences as directed. Maintains the confidentiality of all employee / department information. Provides employees with technical guidance on complex issues. Familiarizes employees with established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Investigates, evaluates, and resolves workers’ compensation claims. Communicates with injured workers and explains benefits regarding worker’s compensation. Facilitates return to work of injured employees through modified duty programs and case management. Maintains of assigned computer databases. Assists the Chief Administrative Officer with the development of presentations and organization of Company events.Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience. Experience: Previous human resources administration experience. Strong administrative, computer, organization and communication skills required.
