Belmont Mansion is looking to fill part-time historic interpreter positions. Do you enjoy learning history? Are you interested in
art history? Do you want to strengthen your public speaking skills? If you’d
like to do any of these things and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others,
then we want to hear from you!
Historical Interpreters serve as the public face of the museum. Their duties
include greeting guests and selling tickets; providing historical
interpretation through informal conversations, formal introductions for the
general admission tour and leading fully guided tours; and helping customers in
our museum shop. They also answer the phone, assist with seasonal special
events, and assist administrative staff with other duties as needed.
Ideal applicants should have strong public speaking and interpersonal skills;
experience in customer service; the ability to remain positive, respectful, and
flexible in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to climb stairs and stand
for long periods of time.
