Shop Assistants execute cash register transactions, maintain the appearance and tidiness of the store displays, answer the phone in a friendly and engaging manner, price merchandise, and help the Shop Manager with other tasks as needed. Assistants must be able to move boxes of merchandise and take initiative to actively listen to guests’ questions and provide an above-and-beyond-experience customized to guests’ needs.

The Belmont Mansion gift shop is located inside the historic house museum on campus. Assistants work shifts of 2-6 hours depending upon availability and museum needs. Need to be able to lift boxes of merchandise, and be active on the retail shop floor throughout the shift. Shop staff assist museum visitors with purchases and museum experience.
