Behavioral Health Technician Job Details Job Location Saint Petersburg - 1735 Martin Luther King S Floor 1 - Saint Petersburg, FL Position Type Part Time Education Level High School Salary Range $15.00 - $15.00 Hourly Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description POSITION SUMMARY: Person in this position will provide direct supervision of clients ensuring safety of all residents, model appropriate behavior, and compliance to program rules. Daily routine care and supervision will fall mainly to the Behavioral Health Technician. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Monitor client chores, sign in sheets and curfews. + Transport to community appointments such as medical, dental, school, as needed. + Complete support documentation and daily notes for assigned clients. + Monitor clients taking medication and medication counts. + Stock all office, kitchen and bathroom supplies. + Sort mail and file daily paperwork. + Submit write ups, incident reports and shift reports. + Update and monitor CDS (Client data system). + Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist with de-escalation of situations ensuring safety for all. + Work under the supervision of Program Manager + Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation. + Other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: + Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be eligible for coverage under WestCare’s insurance policy. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + Must be 21 years of age or older. + During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: + High School Diploma or equivalent required + Minimum of 1 year experience working with clients in a residential setting preferred. + Must be able to pass a Department of Corrections background check. WORKING CONDITIONS: + Indoor and outdoor setting. + Potential for high noise level at times + Regular attendance is required. + Working overtime may be required and essential to perform job duties at times + The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, BUT exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment.
