Job Summary: MaineGeneral Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 3 South inpatient behavioral health unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. This state-of-the-art, 20-bed unit was thoughtfully designed with input from both staff and patients to create a safe, innovative, and supportive environment for healing.

Position: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Alfond Center for Health, AugustaSchedule: Part-time (24 hours/week)
Shift: Nights (7p-7a)
The Role: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)
As a Behavioral Health RN, you will be a vital part of our mission—promoting and maintaining mental wellness, helping prevent psychiatric disorders, and supporting patients in managing their mental health conditions. You’ll work in a therapeutic, team-focused environment where we believe every patient is more than their diagnosis.
What You'll Do:
+ Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
+ Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
+ Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
+ Effectively delegates and communicates patient care needs to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires
Your Qualifications:
+ Required: Active Maine RN license (or ability to obtain)
+ Preferred: 1 year of acute care RN experience with behavioral health patients
+ Open to: New RN graduates!
+ BLS certification and MOAB preferred
+ Strong critical thinking, decisive judgement, and the ability to work independently in a high-stress environment.
