Behavioral Health Intake Therapist - PRN Variable Shifts

This is a PRN (as needed) night-shift position filling in for vacations, leaves of absence, etc.  No guaranteed hours or benefits – flexible schedule – great for supplemental income or the need for more work/life balance. 

In addition to a Master's degree in Behavioral Health or related field - MUST HAVE a current Missouri license for either an LPC or LCSW (or provisional licenses for either of these)

MUST be able to commit to working 9am-5pm Mon-Fri for the first 5 weeks to attend training.  Following that – will move to a PRN (as needed) schedule.

The hours are variable day or night shift 7a-7:30p or 7pm-7:30am. The location for this position is 7980 Clayton Road Richmond Heights, MO 63117.

Job Summary:

Conducts interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions including telehealth assessments.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients.Responds to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.Facilitates admission of in-patients and out-patients based on physician orders. Coordinates transportation to another facility and/or referral to a lower level of care as indicated.Documents calls and related admission information. May staff crisis hotline as needed.Reviews all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence to hospital and regulatory policies.Performs insurance verification and prior-authorization based on payor requirements.

Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Master's degree in Behavioral Health or related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Frequent keyboard use/data entry.Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Rare climbing.
