ABOUT THE ROLE
Seneca’s School Partnership Programs is hiring for a Behavior Support Specialist to guide students to success in Tukwila, WA. As a Behavior Support Specialist you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to provide a holistic, humanizing, and empowering learning environment for students. In addition, you will be responsible for administering intensive intervention programs to identified students and have the opportunity to coach, model, and develop opportunities for school staff!

Responsibilities
Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and program leadership Build therapeutic relationships that help students engage and achieve personalized goals Support the assessment, planning, and implementation of specialized student plans, including individualized education plans (IEP), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and 504 plans Plan, lead and coach student group activities for academics, social skills, and recreation Support Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS) through individual, classroom, and schoolwide coaching and training Provide direct coaching for teachers and support staff to build skills and increase behavioral intervention capacity Deliver direct behavioral intervention that reduces behaviors impeding school success and promotes positive behaviors for learning and community participation Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billing Communicate effectively with families and all others involved in the students' daily life, including other Seneca programs or external agencies Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training This may include intervening with the students’ behavioral program through physical management
Qualifications
Education/Experience requirements: Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of applicable experience OR Associate degree + 3 year of applicable experience OR High school diploma/GED + 4 years of applicable experience Applicable experience is defined as experience working with children who exhibit extremely challenging behaviors Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting locations TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
Schedule
School based schedule: Monday to Friday: 8 AM - 4:30 PM (ability to work occasional flexible schedule when school needs vary) 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days
