Job Title: Beamforming EngineerJob Description
Join a team of experts in developing new radar technologies from scratch. This role focuses on the system engineering development of digital beamforming radar capabilities for air target detection and tracking in challenging environments.
Responsibilities
+ Perform system engineering development of new digital beamforming radar capabilities for radar detection and tracking of air targets in challenging environments.
+ Derive adaptive beamforming and associated subsystem requirements from mission-level needs.
+ Conduct system analysis and trade studies, develop new architectures and algorithms, and generate requirements.
+ Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to define computational needs and architecture, including CPU, GPU, and FPGA.
+ Develop simulation models to assess the performance of new designs in support of PDR and CDR.
+ Create digital beamforming integration and test plans and tools to validate new designs.
+ Analyze data from performance simulations and field tests, troubleshoot issues, and develop fixes or design updates.
+ Represent the company at technical reviews, meetings, and formal design reviews.
Essential Skills
+ Extensive technical expertise in engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.
+ Experience in software-defined digital beamforming, including conventional and adaptive techniques.
+ Proficiency in algorithm development, MATLAB, digital signal processing, and RF engineering.
+ Experience developing system tools and simulations using MATLAB, Python, and/or C.
+ Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
+ Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with field integration of digital beamforming capabilities.
+ Familiarity with development tools such as Confluence and Jira.
+ Knowledge of calibration techniques to mitigate errors in digital beamforming performance.
+ Familiarity with FPGA development and FPGA-based architectures.
+ Bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline with progressive engineering experience.
Work Environment
Work in a fast-paced R&D environment focusing on high-technology systems development. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on projects ranging from nuclear fuel cycles to advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies. The position supports defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $250000.00/yr.
