Battle Captain - Day Shift / 4x10
Job Summary:
The Battle Captain is a critical leadership role within the GEF IT Operations Center, serving as the central point of contact for incident management, problem-solving, and ensuring the stability and security of the GEF platform. They lead by example, driving collaboration between technical teams, providing timely updates to leadership, and ensuring swift resolution of any issues that may arise.
Job Description:
As a Battle Captain, you will:
Oversee and direct 24x7 operational processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with management directives.Lead the on-shift technical teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.Analyze operational data, identify trends, and attempt to proactively address potential issues.Manage incident response, serving as the initial point of contact for all GEF-related incidents and service tickets.Triage and prioritize incoming requests for support, utilizing ticketing systems effectively.Direct troubleshooting efforts, leveraging technical expertise to guide issue resolution.Collaborate with technical teams to ensure timely and effective remediation of incidents.Communicate effectively with all levels of leadership, providing concise and timely updates on operational status, incidents, and resolutions.Maintain operational and physical security of the operational area, including visitor access control.Proactively monitor operational dashboards and systems, including Spectrum, Aria Operations, NETCOP, and security systems.Create, track, start, and close Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs), minimizing service disruptions.Develop and maintain documentation, including daily briefing reports and incident logs.Stay abreast of relevant technologies and industry best practices.Provide backup coverage for other Battle Captains during absences.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree: Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems or equivalent years of work experience
● Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience
● Required Certification: 8570 certification: IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP) and ITIL certification within 6 months of hire.
● Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain an Interim SECRET clearance to start, and a final SECRET clearance
● Required Skills and Abilities: Communication, Problem solving, Tracking of tickets in ticket system
● Location: On Customer Site Ft. Huachuca

The likely salary range for this position is $56,680 - $74,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
