Job Description
The Battery Test Technician will be responsible for various processes associated with the preparation and testing of battery materials. This includes handling mixed metal oxides, and performing mechanical operations for battery cell builds, with a focus on achieving precise measurements and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesFilter wet mixed metal oxide precipitate to ensure quality standards are met.Conduct drying, milling, and calcining of mixed metal oxides.Perform weighing, grinding, milling, sieving, and other mechanical operations to prepare battery materials for cell builds.Measure material mass, density, and surface lithium for accurate battery material preparation.Build coin and pouch cells using slurry mixer, film coater, calendaring machine, and glove box.Conduct formation and cycle life testing of battery cells to assess performance.Wash glassware and dispose of non-hazardous chemicals and battery cells safely.Occasionally commission new equipment as required.Essential SkillsProficiency in battery testing and chemical operations.Experience with coin and pouch cell builds.Familiarity with filtration, drying, milling, and calcining processes of mixed metal oxides.Ability to prepare battery materials for cell builds using various mechanical operations.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree in a relevant field.Experience in a chemistry lab environment with a strong emphasis on safety.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
