Job Description

Join our team as a Battery Test Technician, where you will play a vital role in advancing battery technology by preparing materials and conducting tests on battery cells. This position offers an opportunity to be part of an exciting and open-ended project at the forefront of innovation.

ResponsibilitiesPerform filtration of wet mixed metal oxide precipitate.Carry out drying, milling, and calcining of mixed metal oxides.Engage in weighing, grinding, milling, sieving, and other mechanical operations to prepare battery materials for battery cell builds.Measure material mass, density, and surface lithium.Construct coin and pouch cell builds using a slurry mixer, film coater, calendaring machine, and glove box.Conduct formation and cycle life testing of battery cells.Wash glassware and dispose of non-hazardous chemicals and battery cells.Occasionally commission new equipment.Essential SkillsExpertise in battery technology and chemical processes.Proficient use of slurry mixer and metal oxide preparation.Experience in making coin and pouch cells.Skilled in filtration, drying, milling, and calcining of mixed metal oxides.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree in a relevant field.Familiarity with a chemistry lab environment, including safety protocols.Work Environment

This position is based on-site at the Research & Innovation Center in Dearborn, Michigan, operating Monday to Friday for 40 hours a week. You will be working in a clean lab setting during the 1st shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
