Job Summary: 
Organizes, coordinates, and promotes a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community; provides effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement; demonstrates a high degree of ethics, professionalism, human relations, and is a positive role model for all students.4 positions available:


Minimum Qualifications & Abilities: 

Appropriate California teaching credential or Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate. CPR/First Aid/AED Certification required. Knowledge of student behavior management strategies and techniques. Knowledge of the assigned sport. Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport preferred. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.

 
Essential Functions:

Teaches sport techniques, playing rules, strategies, and playing tactics. Conditions athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength, and agility. Supervises and conducts practices and contests safely; supervises locker rooms and buses. Teaches sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility to one’s team. Monitors athletes’ school attendance, grades, and personal conduct. Responds to player injuries with appropriate first aid techniques. Manages uniforms, equipment, and school facilities in a responsible manner. Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
