ROLE DESCRIPTION  

The Senior Manager, IT Portfolio & Strategy will be responsible for supporting technology strategy and transformation initiatives across the organization, aligning business goals with technological advancements. You will develop and support execution of strategic plans to enhance the company's digital capabilities, optimize customer experiences, and leverage emerging technologies to drive operational efficiency and revenue growth, while helping to develop / allocate and track budget to effectively achieve these goals.   A blend of a strategic thinker and technological expert with change management skills. They should be adept at crafting and executing comprehensive digital transformation strategies, leveraging emerging technologies and products to enhance customer experiences and drive revenue growth. Additionally, they should have a proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams, foster a culture of innovation, and effectively communicate the benefits and impact of digital initiatives to key stakeholders within the organization.   This contributor must maintain a knowledge of evolving trends and the latest advancements in technology, strategy, and management to develop innovative solutions and approaches within this industry. As a key driver of change, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, implement technology solutions, and ensure the company remains competitive in the rapidly evolving cruise industry.  The new Senior Manager, IT Portfolio & Strategy will report to the Director, IT Portfolio & Strategy. This role will also work with internal technology stakeholders, including the Sr. Director Engineering, the Vice President Data & Business Solutions, the VP of Infrastructure, the SVP of Technology, and functional business partners to understand business requirements and resources that will drive organizational growth.   

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Support and manage Technology Strategy for Viking’s Operations, as part of the broader Technology team   Develop and maintain technology roadmaps that guide the implementation of tech solutions across the business and align with business leaders on new needs / changing priorities  Prepare Executive and Steering Committee presentations that synthesize findings, and communicate action items and recommendations to management and leadership   Be an integral part of the IT PMO and work with IT teams, business units, and other functional teams to assist in implementation of technology strategy and oversee execution of select initiatives   Work with functional technology and business teams to develop and manage annual technology budgets to deliver on technology strategy and priorities  Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the success of strategic efforts  Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends and make recommendations on how they can be leveraged to improve solutions, experiences & customer engagement  Support development of annual long-range planning process for technology strategy. Elements include overseeing required quantitative and qualitative analyses, developing budget for key initiatives, and writing presentations for the Leadership team and Board of Directors   Serve as a liaison with business partners, including Ocean Ops. River Ops,  , convening key stakeholders to drive consensus and action  

KEY QUALIFICATIONS 

CORE COMPETENCIES:  

Relevant Strategy Experience: 2+ years of strategy experience from a top-tier technology consulting and/or management consulting firm  Relevant Industry Experience: experience working in travel, tourism, hospitality, retail, or analogous industry. Diverse industry experience is also welcomed. Experience working in a corporate environment is preferred Relevant Functional Experience: The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of digital strategy, transformation, and technology, technical enough to understand integrations, attribution, and work alongside technology team as a respected partner. Proven experience in strategy, operations and execution of digital strategy and transformation strongly preferred Structured and Logical Thinking: The ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and quickly form a hypothesis against which to run test analysis  Analytical Rigor: Ability to run and manage complicated quantitative analysis and develop detailed technology budgets in a defect-free manner  Educational Credentials: undergraduate degree or master’s degree from a top-tier academic institution
