Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. CNBC Select is seeking a sharp, consumer-focused Editor to lead editorial coverage across our banking and loans verticals. This role will manage and edit a team of two reporters, ensuring all content is accurate, timely, and delivers clear value to readers. The Editor will pitch, write, and edit engaging stories that attract new audiences, build loyalty, and drive conversions, while closely monitoring analytics to continuously optimize performance. The ideal candidate has experience in content strategy, commerce, and service journalism, with a proven ability to break down complex financial topics in a relatable, consumer-friendly way. This editor will also serve as CNBC Select’s banking and loans expert across platforms, including social, broadcast, and industry events. + Oversee banking and loans content for CNBC Select + Manage and edit a team of two reporters  + Writing/reporting as needed + Ensure content across the vertical is accurate, fair, and provides value to our readers + Ideate new and engaging content ideas that bring new users to the site, build loyalty and generate conversions (often all at once) + Monitor vertical’s analytics to understand performance and identify areas for improvement  + Work with Compliance to make frequent and timely updates as needed + Appear as CNBC Select’s banking and loans expert on social, broadcast, and other platforms as needed.  + Represent the CNBC Select team at industry events  + Stay up-to-date on the news cycle and generate consumer content that aligns with trends, news, etc. + Build posts in CMS + Lead newsletter pitch meetings and edit newsletter copy Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. (https://www.nbcunicareers.com/benefits)  We invite you to seek the excitement, the challenges and the opportunities that make working here so rewarding. Salary Range - $75,000-$105,000 (bonus eligible)  Requirements: + At least 5 years editorial experience, commerce experience a plus + At least 2 years of direct editing experience, with a portfolio of commerce or service journalism content + At least 2 years’ experience managing writers + Must have experience in content strategy and/or commerce; experience in service journalism / explaining complex topics in a relatable consumer-friendly way + Experience developing content strategy tied to engagement and audience growth goals + Work experience with a growing brand a plus + Work experience for a major news brand a plus Desired Characteristics: + Above average knowledge of personal finance products and best practices + Demonstrated strong management and leadership skills + Firm grasp of AP Style: spelling, grammar and punctuation + Demonstrable understanding of using primary sources and experts to inform fact-based, grounded consumer advice + Ability to turn complex topics into consumer-friendly service journalism + Deep understanding of SEO—including keyword search, content structure and on-page optimization + Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions + Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams + Above average knowledge of personal finance products and best practices + Knowledge of financial affiliate marketing platforms and monetization strategy a plus + Experience working closely with social teams a plus   As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
